Former CHEGA MP Miguel Arruda – who renounced his party and turned independent following his alleged luggage-stealing scandal – is in the eye of the storm yet again, this time for making what was perceived by many as a Nazi salute in Portuguese Parliament.
Fellow MPs claim he repeated the gesture at least twice while signaling his vote. Rui Tavares from LIVRE formally denounced the act, calling it “conscious and deliberate.” Arruda denied any wrongdoing, arguing he was merely clarifying his votem but it has been reported in the past that he has “close connections with the neo-Nazi group, 1143”.
