Argument in café ends in fatal shooting

An argument in a café in Arões São Romão (in the borough of Fafe) yesterday ended with the fatal shooting of a 36-year-old man. His alleged attacker, a 65-year-old man, fled the scene but later walked into Guimarães hospital in a ‘very altered state’, and in the company of his lawyer, say reports. He has since been arrested. The incident has not been fully explained. It appears the victim and the alleged assailant knew each other, and were habitual customers in the café. They appear to have ‘fallen out’ (one report describes ‘disagreements of the past’) which led to the shooting. Pedro Oliveira sustained two shots, and even managed to get up and walk towards the street, before collapsing. PJ police are investigating.
