An anonymous complaint about the purchase of a plot of land has led PJ police to conduct searches of Alandroal town council – a situation that Socialist mayor João Grilo is keen to see be ‘cleared up’ quickly as he has already announced he will be running for re-election in the municipal elections later this year. The complaint centres on a plot of land sold by Mr Grilo to the council for €7,000. According to reports, the plot is no longer owned by the municipality.
