Cat-catching volunteers desperately wanted in Loulé

The fabulous “Vila dos Gatos” community project launched by Animal Rescue Algarve (ARA) managed to sterilise 1,535 colony cats in its first year – helping them live much healthier and happier lives, while ensuring the borough reduced its considerable feral cat population. The goal for this year is to sterilise at least 2000 further strays. But for this to be possible, ARA needs more volunteers: people who can help catch the cats in the first place, and then return them to their colonies/ areas once they have been sterilised. For more information on how to get involved, contact ARA on 910476880. To read about the Vila dos Gatos project click here. ARA adds that anyone caring for stray cats in the municipality can apply for help with sterilisations. Again, for more information email: viladosgatos@animalrescuealgarve.com
