A celebration of art and community in Colares

Casa do Celeiro is a lovingly restored 17th-century barn and stable

A collective art show and Open Studio are taking place at Casa do Celeiro Art Studio, in Colares (Sintra), on Saturday, March 8, from 12 noon to 6pm.

Artist and studio owner, Mary St. George, describes the event as a celebration of art and community.

“This group exhibition offers a glimpse into the creative journeys of six artists. It celebrates both our diversity – in background, process, materials, and techniques, and the intersections where ideas, artistic approaches, and purpose converge, sparking creative momentum,” she says.

Featuring works by Holger Brandes, Raquel Cardoso, George Elliston, Francesca Faulin, Mary St. George, and Franka Struys, the show highlights the richness of artistic exchange and collaboration.

Casa do Celeiro, a lovingly restored 17th-century barn and stable, was once part of a quinta (manor house and farm) on the main road in Pé da Serra, Colares. Discovered in 1980 by its architect-artist owners, it has since been transformed into a home and studio.

With breathtaking views of the serra and sea, its secluded courtyard setting creates an intimate and inspiring atmosphere.

There will be a live music performance at 2pm.

Due to limited parking on the main road, please register your interest in attending by emailing asgmsg@gmail.com or calling +351 962 447 888
