Turismo do Algarve heads to Valladolid for Wine Tourim Fair

The region’s tourism board is making its debut at the Fine #WineTourism Marketplace in Spain on March 5 and 6.

For the first time, Turismo do Algarve will participate in the FINE #WineTourism Marketplace, whose sixth edition will take place on March 5 and 6 at the Feria de Valladolid in Spain. This international event is a key reference for wine tourism professionals, promoting wine destinations and creating new business opportunities.

The Algarve will have a dedicated space for meetings and presentations of its wine tourism offerings. Promotional materials such as the Turismo do Algarve’s wine and gastronomy guides will be available at the stand.

The Algarve Wine Commission, responsible for the Algarve Wine Tourism route, will also promote wine tastings, highlighting the diversity and quality of regional production.

After the event, from March 7 to 11, a group of international operators will have the opportunity to participate in a familiarisation trip to the Algarve, organised by the Algarve Golden Terroir – the Algarve territory candidate for European City of Wine 2026 – in partnership with Turismo do Algarve. This initiative allows participants to discover first-hand the region’s wine tourism experiences.

The president of the Algarve Tourism Board, André Gomes, emphasises that “participating in the FINE #WineTourism Marketplace 2025 is an excellent opportunity to consolidate the Algarve as a reference destination for wine tourism, reinforcing its presence in the Spanish market and in other international markets. In addition to the fam trip, which will allow participants to experience our territory and its diverse and complementary offerings on-site, participation also includes a B2B event, bringing together around 75 national and international buyers, providing a strategic platform for networking and promoting wine regions.”

Since its first edition in 2020, the FINE #WineTourism Marketplace has experienced significant growth. In 2024, it featured 140 exhibitors from Spain, Portugal, and Italy, attracting 84 tour operators from 23 countries. The organisation estimates that wine tourism generated €6.7 billion in 2021, with projections indicating it will reach €12.5 billion by 2026.

The participation of Turismo do Algarve is part of the INTERNATIONALIZAR + Algarve 3.0 programme and will involve the Algarve Wine Commission and the Algarve Golden Terroir, thereby enhancing the recognition and promotion of wine tourism in the Algarve.
