MOVE.Tavira returns to promote cancer prevention awareness

On March 16, the initiative organised by the Algarve Oncology Association offers an activity-packed morning for athletes of all levels. 

MOVE.Tavira, a solidarity initiative organised by the Algarve Oncology Association (AOA), is returning to the Praça da República in Tavira on March 16 to raise awareness for cancer prevention.

The 17th edition of the event features a programme of activities offering options for participants of all levels of activity. These include a 5k walk, a 9k run and exercise classes.

MOVE.Tavira aims to raise awareness about the significance of cancer prevention, particularly breast cancer – during a month that also celebrates International Women’s Day -, to encourage healthy lifestyles through sport and a balanced diet and simultaneously collect funds to support cancer patients and their families.

Registrations have a donation value equal to or greater than €8 (on the day of the event, there is an additional €2 donation) and can be made in person at the AOA Headquarters in Faro, the Dr Edurado Mansinho Pavillion in Tavira or online here

All participants registered at MOVE.Tavira are entitled to an event kit, consisting of a water bottle, a bag/backpack, a cotton t-shirt and leaflets and/or promotional items.

When registering online, the MOVE. Tavira kit can either be collected at one of the locations indicated above or sent by post (additional shipping fee).

The event is organised in partnership with the Tavira City Council, the Tavira Parish Union and Taviraverde.
