Scheduled for this weekend, the Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana Hiking Festival has been postponed to mid-May.
Initially scheduled for March 7, 8, and 9, the Caminheiros—XI Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana Hiking Festival has been postponed to May 16, 17, and 18 due to the adverse weather forecast for the weekend.
According to a note from the city hall, the decision was made “considering the forecast of heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms, which posed a risk to the safety of participants and made it impossible to carry out the scheduled activities”.
As an event that celebrates nature and the exploration of the territory, Caminheiros “aims to provide participants with a complete and memorable experience, something that could not be guaranteed in this climatic context”, as stated in an announcement.
The new date maintains the original programme, which includes themed walks, opportunities for conviviality, and immersive experiences in the cross-border region of the Baixo Guadiana.
Participants who are already registered will be able to maintain their registration automatically and will be informed of all updates throughout the process.
The registration period has also been extended due to the postponement.
