Spain wants to host 2035 Women’s World Cup with Portugal and Morocco

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will already host the 2030 Men’s World Cup

The president of Spain’s Football Federation (RFEF) has announced plans to host the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup with Portugal and Spain.

Following their successful joint bid for the 2030 FIFA Men’s World Cup, the federation boss has expressed a strong desire to replicate this partnership for the women’s edition of the tournament.

“We want Spain to be the host of the 2035 Women’s World Cup, in partnership with countries like Portugal and Morocco. These nations are making significant economic efforts and are key allies in this endeavour,” said Rafael Louzán during the inauguration of the Women’s Sports Observatory in Madrid.

“The World Cup is the most important sporting event in existence. We will be ready for it. The final deadline is next week, and this initiative is supported by our strong desire for equality,” he added.

The RFEF president sees this bid as a great opportunity to enhance the visibility of women’s football. He also believes that the experience gained from organising the 2030 Men’s World Cup will serve as a valuable foundation for another successful international tournament.

No official entity or representative from Portugal has yet to comment on the possibility of hosting the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
