Easter in Portimão will feature an Egg Hunt, a Parisian carousel, live music and religious ceremonies
Portimão is promising an exciting Easter experience for everyone, hosting a wide range of festive events throughout the municipality until April 20.
Most of the Easter-themed fun will be taking place at the town’s main squares and gardens, such as Largo da Mó, Praça da República (Alameda), Jardim 1° de Dezembro, Largo 1° de Maio, Praça Manuel Teixeira Gomes, Jardim Visconde Bívar, as well as the area surrounding the Matriz church.

One of the most anticipated activities, especially for families and children, is the popular Easter Egg Hunt. Scheduled to take place over the extended Easter weekend, between April 18 and 20, the hunt will be open to children up to the age of 12. Another highlight will be the traditional Parisian carousel at Largo da Mó, operating from 3pm to 8pm every day and with an additional morning schedule of 10am to 1pm on weekends and holidays.
The town is also promising an Instagrammable Easter, with several spots for selfies set up at Largo 1º de Maio, Praça da República, Jardim 1º de Dezembro and Praça Manuel Teixeira Gomes.

Tickets for both concerts can be purchased online at www.bol.pt, costing €10 per person.
The religious side of Easter will also be celebrated through a series of traditional ceremonies, from vigils and Eucharist services to processions. The main activities will take place in the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição – Matriz de Portimão, the Parish of the Church of Mexilhoeira Grande, the Parish of Divino Salvador in Alvor, Montes de Alvor Church, Sto.
