The Algarve’s celebrated Vale do Lobo resort has announced the opening of three new restaurants this Easter – part of the resort’s ongoing strategy of enhancements and exciting new launches. The Smash Sports Bar will extend the ‘healthylicious’ dining concept of Vale do Lobo’s already popular Smash restaurant; Barlume will deliver a fresh Mediterranean-Italian café concept; and El Ta’koy will present Hawaiian-inspired street food with stunning coastal views.
“Vale do Lobo has a long and well-deserved reputation for the quality of its gastronomic experiences”, Eduardo Johnston da Silva, Managing Director of Vale do Lobo, comments. “As part of an extensive investment in its facilities, Vale do Lobo opened three new restaurants last year, which have already garnered a loyal following, and now, we’re adding the flavours of Italy and Hawaii into the mix, presenting diners with outstanding cuisine and impeccable service.”

The new Smash Sports Bar extends and enhances the popular Smash restaurant to deliver a family-friendly blended bar and dining experience. The ‘healthylicious’ modern European menu ranges from nutritious salads and fresh poké bowls to delicious pizzas and hearty pasta dishes, while the convivial atmosphere is perfect for relaxed meals with family and friends. There’s a spacious terrace overlooking the tennis courts, padel courts and swimming pool of the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy, as well as the welcoming indoor area serving meals, drinks and snacks throughout the day.
Open for handcrafted breads, pastries and fresh pastas paired with Aneri coffee by day, and morphing into a sophisticated wine bar as evening falls, Barlume blends the warmth of Mediterranean hospitality with a refined atmosphere. Its three distinct areas – the Caffé, the Dining Room and the Terrace – enable patrons to choose between eclectic lounge alcoves, engaging communal tables and a lively central bar. The drinks menu features over 30 thoughtfully curated Italian wines, from classic to contemporary vintages, while the cocktail menu presents a modern take on timeless Italian drinks, infused with seasonal ingredients for an unexpected twist.
Completing the trio of new restaurants openings is El Ta’koy. Set over two storeys with enviable Atlantic views, El Ta’koy brings the vibrant flavours of Hawaii to Vale do Lobo. The dynamic, engaging dining experience is inspired by the Pacific’s tropical cuisine, with celebrated Chef Luis Pous presenting a selection of small plates, ceviches, tacos and sharing dishes bursting with bold flavours. The Ahi Tuna Tacos with Caviar are a particular highlight, while the cocktails crafted from fresh juices and island rums, bring traditional Tiki bar vibes directly to the Algarve.
With all three restaurants open this Easter, locals and holidaymakers alike have a wealth of new flavours to enjoy as the new season gets into full swing in the Algarve.
