Epicurean Encounter will see Bruno Augusto and Rodrigo Castelo team up at The One
The Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort is set to host a new culinary initiative, the Epicurean Encounter, on Saturday, May 10, bringing together two prominent Portuguese chefs for a collaborative dining event at its in-house restaurant, The One.
The first edition of this new gastronomic series will see Bruno Augusto, executive chef at The One, alongside Rodrigo Castelo, the Michelin-starred chef at the helm of the Ó Balcão restaurant in Santarém, in the Alentejo.
Also a holder of a Michelin Green Star and two Repsol Suns, as well as a Repsol Sustainable Sun, Castelo is recognised for his “passion for sustainable gastronomy and river-based flavours” and will bring with him the “intensity of traditions reinvented”, organisers say.
Working alongside each other, the two chefs will create an “exclusive, seasonal menu with a local soul, in which each dish tells a story.” Diners will be treated to an “unexpected fusion of the land and sea” which blends sophistication and genuine traditions from both the Ribatejo and Algarve regions. The result is expected to be a multi-course tasting experience, complemented by The One’s wine list which has been recognised with a Wine Spectator Award.
The Epicurean Encounter is priced at €95 per person, including wine pairings, and is positioned as the first in a planned series of chef collaborations hosted by the resort.
“More than a dinner, the Epicurean Encounter is an invitation to experience gastronomy like an intimate show, with the ocean as a backdrop and excellence as a main ingredient,” organisers add.
The culinary weekend also marks the seasonal reopening of Sky Bar Carvoeiro, the resort’s rooftop venue known for its ocean views, signature cocktails, and live sunset sessions.
