A cold week ahead

It’s time to bring out those warm winter jackets. Temperatures throughout the country are expected to continue dropping until the beginning of next week – with thermometers in Porto plummeting to as low as 4ºC, in Lisbon 5-6ºC and in the Algarve 8ºC, the Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute (IPMA) announced on Friday.

In Serra da Estrela and other inland mountainous regions, temperatures are expected to reach -3ºC, considered normal for this time of the year.

The grey cloud, however, is expected to lift by Saturday afternoon, so at least we can shiver under clear skies.
