Albufeira firefighters donate vehicle rescue tool to Bragança

Firefighters in Albufeira have donated a vital vehicle rescue tool to their counterparts in Miranda do Douro, Bragança, whose own equipment, worth €25,000, was stolen in July.

The extrication tool is used in life-or-death situations to free victims who are stuck inside vehicles. As Albufeira firefighters had an extra set, they decided to offer it to their peers in the north of Portugal.

The set includes a generator, cutters and other life-saving material.

The ceremony to celebrate the donation took place in Albufeira on August 30 and was attended by both the commanders of Miranda do Douro and Albufeira firefighters and local mayor José Carlos Rolo.
