The municipal assembly of Albufeira has approved a proposal to create regulations for the “wellbeing of animals in the borough”.
The idea was put forward by animal rights party PAN and approved with the abstention of CDU.
PAN councillor Vera Belchior says this is an “important step towards tackling the lack of rules to protect animals and promote their wellbeing”.
