The new low-cost supermarket, located on the EN 2, opens its doors tomorrow, November 29.
ALDI Portugal is opening a new store tomorrow, November 29, in São Brás de Alportel. With 1000 m² of sales area, this is the retailer’s second opening in the Algarve in 2024, which now counts 21 stores in the Faro district. Furthermore, another flagship space is scheduled to open by the end of the year, this time in Parchal.
Located on Estrada Nacional Nº 2 (EN 2) – Lugar Horta do Cano, the new store aims to bring a wide range of fresh, high-quality products at affordable prices.
Outside, customers have access to around 70 parking spaces, including three for people with reduced mobility, four fast charging stations for electric vehicles and two spaces reserved for motorhomes.
Additionally, photovoltaic panels were pre-installed on the store’s roof, a sustainable practice in line with the brand’s commitments.
This investment generated around 20 new jobs, prioritising local recruitment and facilitating the reintegration of candidates into the job market after unemployment.
To support the communities where it operates, ALDI will also donate surplus food from this store to the Salvation Army Institution, which regularly supports around 40 families.
The supermarket’s construction project also enabled the construction of a connection road between EN 2 and the historic centre of Vila de São Brás de Alportel. The road is approximately 430 meters long and includes a pavement, a cycling path, and 50 parking spaces. It will facilitate residents’ movement and provide new access to the historic centre.
To celebrate the opening, customers will receive a €5 discount voucher, valid for purchases over €25, until December 24.
All visitors will also receive welcome plants and reusable bags and be able to sample coffee from the retailer’s own brand, Barissimo®.
