This is Aldi’s 22nd store in Algarve
German supermarket chain Aldi has opened a new two-storey store in Parchal, Lagoa, its 22nd in the Algarve.
Located on Rua Infante de Sagres, in Parchal’s new bustling commercial area, the supermarket boasts a 1,100sqm sales area, offering the usual ‘discount’ products that Aldi is known for, including fresh fruit and vegetables and freshly baked bread, as well as a self-service orange juice machine.
The new store also has a 108-space car park, as well as special spots for adapted vehicles, a bike rack, ‘dog parking’ and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Access to the supermarket is “facilitated” by moving walkways and an elevator, the chain says in a statement.
Aldi says that the Parchal store has created around 20 new jobs, and an agreement is in place to donate food surplus to the Algarve Food Bank, which supports over 27,800 people in the region.
The supermarket is open every day from 8am to 9pm, although it will close early on Christmas Eve (6pm) and will be closed on Christmas Day.
