Alentejo hoteliers expecting bumper Easter

With Easter less than two weeks away, accommodation providers in the Portugal’s Alentejo region are expecting more customers this year, with some are predicting almost full capacity, according to the head of the Regional Tourism Authority. “Most hoteliers estimate that Easter will be better this year than last year,” said José Manuel Santos. Although the region’s hotels are “not yet” some already have “reservations above 50% / 70%” and others have “occupancy estimates close to 100% (…) The trend towards slightly higher occupancy than in 2023 is accentuating,” as “the average occupancy sold in hotels at this stage is over 60% and will accelerate in the coming days, in line with the trend of last minute (bookings),” he said.
