The incentives programme must now optimise the implementation of funds designated for the region.
The monitoring committee of the Algarve 2030 Regional Programme convened on February 25 at the Antiga Lota de Portimão. The agenda for the sixth meeting of this committee centred on essential points for the programme that were presented and discussed.
During the session, José Apolinário, president of the PR Algarve 2030 steering committee, emphasised the importance of the monitoring conducted by the European Commission, stressing that “this meeting occurs at a time when all efforts are focused on accelerating the implementation of the PT2030”, incentives programme.
Facing the challenge of optimising the implementation of funds designated for the region, the primary goal is November 2025, with the required allocation of €100 million from the PR Algarve 2030. “This represents the implementation target for 2025 – a year prior to the PRR deadline – and it is the responsibility of all who advocate for the importance of cohesion policy and the organisations present at this table,” remarked José Apolinário.
To this end, a plan has been outlined based on the type of beneficiary, and it is around this “map”, that the Algarve 2030 management authority aims to engage municipalities, public entities, universities, and companies.
