Going into last week’s international break, Portimonense top scorer Chico Banza was the only player from the two Algarve clubs not enjoying an enforced rest.
The Angola international played in both CAN 2025 qualifiers against Ghana (1-1) and Sudan (0-0) and it is hoped that he will return ready for the catch-up second division league game against high-flying Benfica B at the Municipal Stadium this Saturday (11am kick-off).
Doubtful for that encounter are regulars Shoya Nakamura, Tony, Diaby, Paulo Vitor and Elijah, all of whom are recovering from injury. That same afternoon, Farense also return to action for their FA Cup fourth round tie at Arouca.
