LIGA PORTUGAL BETCLIC: BOAVISTA 1-1 FARENSE
LIGA PORTUGAL 2 MEU SUPER: PAÇOS FERREIRA 0-1 PORTIMONENSE
Last Sunday afternoon, Farense almost did enough to record a second successive win at Boavista only to see an injury time penalty reduce the spoils to a share of the points.
Keeper Ricardo Velho had made sure the game remained goalless at the break with a brace of saves from Robert Bozenik and Bruno Onyemaechi before a Marco Matias shot across goal handed the Algarvians the lead not long after the restart.
Boavista should have been level in the 88th minute, but Rodrigo Abascal somehow missed a free header. Referee David Silva then pointed to the penalty spot following a Jaime Pinto foul on Seba Pérez with the clock well past the 90 minutes of normal time.
In the ensuing melee, the man in black also issued second yellow cards and thus marching orders to Farense’s Falcão and Boavista’s Vukotic before Miguel Reisinho was finally able to dispatch the successful penalty kick and end the match.
Farense, still fighting to get out of the relegation zone, next welcome 12th-placed Gil Vicente on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier on Sunday, second division Portimonense appeared to be heading for a goalless draw at Paços Ferreira until Tamble struck with almost the last touch of the ball in the 95th minute.
An exciting end-to-end encounter had seen respective goalkeepers Vinicius and Marafona keep their sides in the match with a couple of very good saves each until Tamble’s bolt of lightning header from a Geovane cross at the death. Portimonense, now 14th on 13 points, next head to table toppers Tondela on Sunday afternoon.
