LIGA PORTUGAL BETCLIC: FARENSE 0-1 BOAVISTA
LIGA PORTUGAL 2 MEU SUPER: PORTIMONENSE 2-0 PAÇOS FERREIRA
Early on Saturday afternoon. Portimonense dominated their guests, two first half penalties successfully converted by Tamble and Paulo Vítor making sure that all three invaluable points stayed at home. The win gained added importance as all five clubs below the Algarveans lost, giving Ricardo Pessoa’s men a huge survival boost with a mere four matches remaining. The first of these will again be played at home on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick-off) against league leaders Tondela.
That same afternoon saw Farense head into their ‘must-win’ home clash with bottom club Boavista. Both clubs are in deep relegation trouble and as the match went on the lack of any real action mirrored the fear of losing at either end. A long 68th-minute Boavista throw in finally produced the winner which drew the visitors level on points in joint last place in the league table. Above these two on 21 points are AVS SAD on 24 and Estrela Amadora on 26 points. Farense next play away at 14th-placed Gil Vicente on Saturday evening.
