Algarve Orchestra welcomes New Year with Austro-Hungarian Empire dances

The orchestra performs in Loulé on New Year’s Day, followed by concerts in Tavira and Vila do Bispo on January 4 and 10.

The Orquestra do Algarve keeps tradition alive with its New Year’s concert. This year, a series of five concerts will delight its audience with performances of colourful and famous dances of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where waltzes abound.

The first two concerts, already sold out, will take place tomorrow, January 1, in Loulé at 16h00 and 18h30 in the Cineteatro Louletano.

Maestro Martim Sousa Tavares will conduct three more concerts to celebrate the start of the New Year in the Algarve. Tavira’s Igreja do Carmo (Carmo Church) will host two free concerts (subject to availability) on January 4, at 18h00 and 21h30 (Tickets must be collected at the venue between 15h00 and 18h00).
