Nuno Júdice, the Algarve poet who became one of the most renowned in Portugal, died on Sunday at the age of 74.
President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has paid tribute to Júdice, describing him in an official statement as “one of the most prolific Portuguese poets, and the best known internationally”, and praising his work as “unlike any other.”
Nuno Júdice was born in Mexilhoeira Grande, Portimão in 1949.
