Algarve Senior Bikers finally enjoy ride in the sunshine!

New website enables members to sign up to take part in rides

After all the recent stormy weather which caused the postponement of the March ride, Algarve Senior Bikers were able to enjoy a day out in the sunshine on March 26.

The ride started from the village of São Marcos da Serra and, leaving via the IC1 main road, riders headed north before turning east into the hills above São Barnabé for a stop at the spectacular Miradouro do Mú to take a few photos.

Then it was on to Dogueno for a break for refreshments before taking some quiet roads towards Martim Longo. Then turning back to head for lunch in Cortelha, riders had another photo opportunity at the Miradouro da Caldeira on the way.

“There were over 40 riders in three groups enjoying the quiet roads with beautiful views from start to finish,” said David Shirley, ASB organiser.

Ride leaders on the day were Philippe Payen, David Ryan, Huw Chivers assisted by Tus Gentes, John Pilkington and David Shirley who planned the route and arranged the lunch.

The ASB now has a new website – algarveseniorbikers.com – created by member Ken Blunt to enable members to sign up to take part in rides and events.

Members are reminded to register if they have not already done so in order to be able to sign up for future rides.

If you are interested in joining ASB, please email algarveseniorbikers@gmail.com for more information.
