Bikers enjoyed a beautiful clear day with blue skies
The Algarve Senior Bikers organised a bike ride on March 20 from Boliqueime to Cabanas de Tavira.
Thirty-five members turned up to join the ride and later enjoy lunch at the Charrete restaurant in Cabanas de Tavira.
There were three groups and special thanks go to Huw Chivers, Phil Anderson and Stefan and Sandra Greger for assisting as group leaders and sweepers.
On leaving Boliqueime, the bikers headed out on small roads to Parragil before turning onto the N270 and taking the Loulé bypass towards Querenca, Montes Novos, Barranco do Velho and then Cachopo for a coffee stop.
After having refreshments and socialising at Cachopo, they set off heading north-east into the hills via Fortim and Nora where it was possible to experience fantastic views of the countryside.
The photo opportunity was on the hilltop outside Nora where you could see all the way down to Monte Gordo and Tavira and the sea, as bikers enjoyed a beautiful clear day with blue skies.
After the photo stop, the bikers dropped down into Cabanas to restaurant Charrete where they enjoyed a “delicious lunch of beef curry or dourada which was enjoyed by all”.
“As always, we had a wide selection of bikes, which is always interesting, including the terrific bike and sidecar combination of Johannes and Heidi,” said ride organiser Stan Green.
“The generosity of ASB members is very much appreciated by giving a donation every ride towards aiding the Gaivota Children’s Home and ASB organiser David Shirley will be visiting them next week to deliver Easter Eggs for the residents.”
