Algarve MP Cristóvão Norte takes on new role
Algarve MP, Cristóvão Norte, has been named vice-president of the PSD parliamentary group, which will be led by Hugo Soares.
“I always believed that national influence is necessary to resolve regional problems. That is another way I am facing this job. I am in a position that allows me to exert decisive influence to resolve the fundamental problems of the region and the country,” said Norte in a statement to the press.
“It is an opportunity for the region that I will not waste. Water, health, housing and mobility will be the priorities,” the MP guaranteed.
Norte also recognised that the AD minority government will require “compromises” from everyone, including the “government, the parties that support the government and the opposition.”
“We all have to speak to everyone, this will be the only way to solve problems and push the country forward,” he added.
