Environmental association Almargem is worried about the “lack of environmental sensibility” that land management bosses have shown in the Algarve this summer, particularly at the Telheiro and Odeceixe beaches in Vila do Bispo.
According to the association, offences include the creation of a new beach in Odeceixe with sand from an “already fragile dune”, as well as using “tires, plastic, rubble” and other potentially hazardous materials to outline roads to the coast.
