All roads lead to São Brás this week

São Brás prepares to host its popular ‘Feira da Serra’

One of the Algarve’s biggest summer events is taking place this week in São Brás de Alportel. Between Thursday and Sunday, (July 25-29), the town will host another edition of its Feira da Serra (Mountain Fair) at the local E.B. 2 and 3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos school.

The fair will feature around 300 exhibitors, 20 “themed spaces”, nine restaurants, several food stalls, and over 70 hours of entertainment.  All in all, 56 live performances are planned, with over 540 artists (including 37 local acts) due to take the event’s five stages.

Headline acts include Portuguese stars David Carreira (Thursday), Diogo Piçarra (Friday), Anjos (Saturday) and Bárbara Bandeira (Sunday).

“We will open the doors of Feira da Serra on Thursday to show São Brás de Alportel to the world,” says local mayor Vítor Guerreiro, stressing that the event aims to showcase the “culture, traditions and arts and crafts” of São Brás, as well as its people and businesses.

One-day ticket prices start at €7, with three-day and four-day passes costing €13 and €17, respectively.

Tickets can be purchased online at MEO Blueticket, at the venue on the days of the event starting at 6.30pm, or on week days at the local council’s treasury.
