Almancil is once again celebrating the traditional Algarve ‘cataplana’ in its 10th ‘Festival da Cataplana’, running at 12 local restaurants until June 30.
Besides showcasing the regional delicacy, the festival also is aimed at promoting Almancil’s restaurants.
The town’s business association – in collaboration with Loulé council – is hoping to encourage new visitors by distributing 10% discount vouchers.
For those who don’t know, a ‘cataplana’ is a mouth-watering stew cooked in a copper clam-shaped pot.
Everything from seafood to meat and game can be enjoyed in ‘cataplanas’ at this year’s festival, and participating restaurants are: O Nosso Café, 2 Passos, Sandbanks Fish & Seafood, Aquarelle, Churrasqueira de Almancil, Julia’s, O Ribeiro, O Tanque, Casa do Campo, Louro, Flor de Sal and A Floresta
