Coinciding with the ‘positive results’ of today’s meeting of experts at Infarmed (see briefly news column), Tuesday’s bulletin brings further reason for cheer: in the last 24-hours almost 1,200 people ‘recovered’ from testing positive for SARS-CoV-2, and hospitals’ Covid wards have continued to thin out.
Numbers in hospital now are down to 346, of which only 86 are in intensive care.
It’s such a long way from the established ‘red lines’ that the government has made it clear the country is definitely ready for deconfinement stage 4 and the last leg of preparing to return to ‘normality’.
Frontiers however with Spain remain closed.
Today’s bulletin shows that five patients died in the last 24-hours with Covid-19, though the ‘active case count’ nationally is now down to below 24,000 (exact number: 23,816).
Mass testing throughout the country detected 353 new cases on Monday as vaccination centres are now going at ‘full throttle’.
