Almost two-thirds of Portuguese people are concerned about the economy, health, social security and the cost of living. The latest Eurobarometer, coming just weeks before legislative elections, show only 25% of people think the economy will improve in the next 12 months, against 29% registered nine months ago.
Bizarrely however the Portuguese are among the ‘most enthusiastic nations in the EU, albeit “pessimistic in terms of economic perspectives”.
