Alto Golf Club Captain Martin Dean has donated an automated external defribillator (AED) to Portimão’s fire station.
The money to purchase the AED was raised after a number of Alto Golf events and a Handbags and Glad Rags function held by the Masonic Lodge 96, Peace and Harmony.
The decision to donate an AED came after a meeting with the deputy commander of the local Bombeiros, Paulo Silva, to determine what vital equipment he could help obtain.
The answer was the immediate need to equip the first response vehicles with AED’s.
