Japanese pianist Keigo Mukava and British-Portuguese violinist Cristian de Sá will perform two concerts
In October, the Amigos de Música will present another duo of internationally active musicians coming to Portugal for two concerts on Tuesday, October 15 and Thursday, October 17: Japanese pianist Keigo Mukava and British-Portuguese violinist Cristian de Sá.
On Tuesday, the two artists will play a Scherzo and the Violin Sonata No. 2 in A Major by Johannes Brahms, 3 Romances by Clara Schumann, two transcriptions by Claude Debussy and the Violin Sonata No.1 by Gabriel Fauré, the celebrated French composer, organist and pianist who died 100 years ago in Paris, hence his celebration this year.
On Thursday, they propose the Violin Sonata No. 1 in D Major, Op. 122 by L. van Beethoven, Five Melodies op 35 by Serge Prokofiev, a Sonata by Maurice Ravel and Violin Sonata No.2 by Gabriel Fauré.
All concerts will take place in the Auditorium of Os Agostos near Santa Bárbara de Nexe. Doors will open at 6pm and the concert will begin at 7pm sharp. Wine, fruit juices and canapés will be available from 6.15pm before the concert and during the interval.

The Amigos de Música is an international group of around 120 members who stage musical activities by internationally renowned musicians and also sponsor young Portuguese musicians. It is a non-profit organization and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021. Members pay a yearly contribution of €250 for up to 18 concerts.
About the artists
After studying at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Japanese pianist Keigo Mukawa was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with unanimous honours. In 2017, Mukawa performed all solo piano works by Maurice Ravel, one of the composers he has deepened his research on after studying in France, in 6 recitals at CHANEL Pygmalion Days. Keigo Mukawa won the 3rd Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2021, and the 2nd Prize at the Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition in 2019 and is currently performing in a wide range of solo and chamber music activities based in Japan and Europe. In 2024, Mukawa was awarded the 33rd Idemitsu Music Award.
The British- Portuguese violinist Cristian de Sá embarked on his career aged 24 with his European debut recital at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He was subsequently invited to make his European concerto debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon with his performance critically acclaimed and featured by RTP Portugal and The Strad Magazine. His chamber music performances include alongside Maxim Vengerov in London and in France with Renaud Capuçon, at his personal invitation. He previously received the First Prize at the inaugural ‘Groba’ International Violin Competition in Spain and a Gold Medal with High Distinction at the Vienna International Music Competition.
