Animal Corner – Helping hands at Hatter’s Party

APAA’s final event of the spring season was a sumptuous garden party

APAA’s golden motto is ‘Here to Help’. How indeed then can it ring even more true than at a social event hosted by Anita Wight, in her beautiful country garden, should have a cry for help?

“All our events and Pop-Up shops are just that. A helping hand, surely for the animals who need care and often urgent attention.”

The Association for Protection of Animals Algarve’s final event of the spring season was a sumptuous garden party. “Mad Hatters!” Jenny is laughing. “Anita and her crew did all they could, pulled out the stops as it were.” Wonderful potted plants supplied by Liz. “A whole van load!” Jenny winks. “Alexey helped to ease us into a lovely mood with his singing and guitar playing.”

The golden opportunity for a community and members to get together for a ‘bash’ and donate time and money to SNiP (Spaying and Neutering Programme). APAA’s SNiP Programme has a long, well-proven track record. “By raising the money, we can care for and maintain the numerous and fast-growing feral cat colonies. Also, the vet bills for abandoned dogs.” The list does not end. Or the tireless efforts of all concerned to continue to raise awareness and money.

One of the helpers at the ‘Hatters’, giving her free time, found her car locked, keys inside. “I couldn’t believe it!” Alla was in a tight spot. The insurance did not cover her. The car company wanted cash. “Wonderful people came to my rescue.” Needless to say, a big “Thank you!”.
