The municipality is preparing a week-long programme of initiatives dedicated to our four-legged friends.
The municipality of Olhão is hosting Animal Week between October 1 and 6 to promote the importance of “coexisting harmoniously with animals”.
The Jardim Pescador Olhanense is the chosen venue for the week-long series of activities. The programme’s highlight is the “Vet for a Day” initiative, during which the Dr Alberto Iria school students will play a key role.
On Friday, October 4, at 10h00, a new dog park will be opened in the municipality in the Urbanização Custódia Mendes.
On October 5, the two highlights of the programme are a “dog walk”, with a route between the Levante dog park and the Jardim Pescador Olhanense, and the Animal Fair, where several veterinary clinics of the municipality will promote their services and workshops on the needs and care for our four-legged companions. Both initiatives start at 15h00.
On the closing day, between 16h00 and 18h00, anyone visiting the Jardim Pescador Olhanense will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration by the PSP K9 Operational Group and the Catraquinas Superdog Show.
An animal food collection campaign will take place every day of the event to support the kennel animals.
