Another hashish haul seized on Algarve beach

Another haul of hashish has been found on an Algarve beach, this time on Faro’s Ilha Deserta (Desert Island) on Tuesday (January 21).

The drugs were discovered during routine coastal surveillance and patrol operations by maritime police, which delivered the haul to PJ criminal police.

This is just the latest load of hashish to be seized by authorities in the Algarve along the coast. In the first 10 days of 2025 alone, nearly one ton of hashish was found. Meanwhile, an abandoned speedboat linked to drug smuggling was found abandoned on the nearby Faro Island on Monday.
