Another Luso-Israeli citizen confirmed dead in Middle East conflict

A whole year after the October 7 massacre it appears that ā€˜Portuguese-Israeli citizen Idan Shti-vi’ was killed a year ago, not taken hostage as originally believed. Outgoing Israeli ambassador to Portugal, Dor Shapira, announced earlier today that ā€œIdan Shtivi was murdered on October 7, and his body was taken to Gazaā€. Idan will have been one of thousands of Israelis who succeeded in getting Portuguese nationality under the ā€˜Sephardic Jew amnesty’ that subsequently fell under a cloud. Portugal’s ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its ā€œdeep dismayā€ over the news, sending ā€œheartfelt condolencesā€ to the young man’s family.
