From the 5th to the 22nd September, Apolónia Supermarkets are presenting the first edition of their Wine and Cheese Fair, an event dedicated to the art of pairing two gastronomic delicacies – wine and cheese. With an exclusive selection of over 450 wines and around 200 cheeses, the event aims to provide a unique experience for connoisseurs.
This innovative initiative is an evolution from their traditional Wine Fair, now enriched by the inclusion of exclusive cheeses, creating unique tasting opportunities.
Taking place in Apolónia’s three physical stores, in Almancil, Galé and Lagoa, as well as in the online store, the event will allow customers from all over the country to take part in this experience. As part of its ongoing commitment to excellence, the fair includes promotions with up to 50% discount, and features in its catalogue a careful selection of pairings, where each wine region is paired with cheeses, specially chosen by 19 prestigious chefs and sommeliers from some of the Algarve’s best restaurants. The guests include names such as Chef Diter Koschina (2 Michelin stars since 1999) from the 2 Michelin star Vila Joya restaurant, Chef Henrique Leis from the Henrique Leis restaurant (Michelin star from 2000 to 2019), Chef José Lopes from the Bon Bon restaurant (Michelin star 2022), or Miguel Martins, Sommelier from the Authentic restaurant.
The Apolónia Wine and Cheese Fair is not limited to national borders, offering a wide selection of international wines and cheeses from eleven regions, including France, Italy, Spain, the USA and many others. Also noteworthy is the inclusion of rare and exclusive cheeses, such as Norway’s Tine Geitost, known for its caramel flavour.
