Appeal for help to find missing man who phoned family asking for help

Authorities are searching for 34-year-old Filipe Casinha, a man who has been missing since Tuesday (December 3) when he reportedly called a family member to ask for help after falling while collecting pinecones somewhere between Aljezur and Portimão.

It is believed that his phone ran out of battery during the call.

Family members and friends are now calling on everyone to help search for Filipe, who they fear is injured and unable to move somewhere in the areas of Espinhaço do Cão, Pereira, Lagos and Mexilhoeira Grande.

They ask to look out for his white Nissan Cabstar pickup truck which could indicate that he is nearby.

Searches are being led by GNR police and have been assisted by local firefighting forces.

If you find Filipe or have any information about his whereabouts, please contact national emergency number 112.
