Arrow takes over Monte Rei Golf as Algarve expansion continues

Monte Rei Golf joins portfolio of Arrow Group

The Arrow Global Group continues to expand in Portugal, particularly in the Algarve, with its latest acquisition of the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club in Vila Nova de Cacela, Castro Marim.

Disclosed on Thursday via the website of Portugal’s Competition Authority, the deal marks the addition of another premium property to Arrow’s growing portfolio. The financial terms remain undisclosed.

This transaction involves Arrow gaining “exclusive control over seven companies operating tourist accommodation ventures and a golf course,” the statement says.

The British fund already holds a significant presence in Portugal, managing entities like Norfin and Whitestar, alongside a collection of hotels and golf courses.

In a string of recent acquisitions, Arrow purchased the five-star Anantara Vilamoura Resort from Thai owners Minor International in December. Prior to that, the group acquired Palmares Ocean Living & Golf at the end of 2023, a deal reportedly valued at approximately €110 million.

Monte Rei Golf & Country Club is considered one of the Algarve’s leading golf resorts, known for its Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, “consistently rated number one in Portugal,” it says on its website.
