Attorney General Lucília Gago has today criticised the closure of residential units in educational centres, lamenting the lack of resources to accompany young people who are ‘uprooted, undocumented, of different origins and backgrounds’ and who are unable to support themselves in this country. Using careful language, she said: “With a high probability, they may show educational needs manifested in the commission of criminally relevant acts – adding to the difficulties in the field that are currently strongly felt”.
