Management of Germany’s Volkswagen group has assured the works council at Autoeuropa, Palmela, in Setúbal district, south of Lisbon, that the plant “is being considered to receive (the task of assembling) an electric car”. According to Rogério Nogueira of the works council, a final decision is expected to be made known in the coming months. Right now, Autoeuropa produces the VW T-Roc, but the model is due to be phased out in 2028.
