Often topping lists for good reasons such as its beautiful natural landscapes, the Portuguese archipelago Azores has now been named “Europe’s most expensive car rental destination”.
Rent-a-car companies in the Azores charge an average of €74 per day, the most expensive price registered in over 100 European destinations, according to a survey by www.cheapcarrental.net
Porto (6th), Faro (12th) and Lisbon (13th) also feature on the list, charging an average of €64, €50 and €49 per day.
