A baby dolphin was rescued from a beach near the Faro/Olhão breakwater, on Ilha Deserta (Ria Formosa) on Saturday.
According to RTP, the dolphin was spotted struggling near the beach and was watched over by a lifeguard and crew from a boat until a team from the National Nature and Forest Conservation Institute (ICNF) arrived.
The dolphin was then transported three nautical miles away from the coast and released back into the sea.
