Bakery chain seeks 300 new staff

Portuguese bakery chain ‘A Padaria Portuguesa’ has announced that it will be hiring 300 people by the end of 2016.

According to the company, more employees are needed so that the growing company can open 40 new outlets in the Grande Lisboa area throughout the next two years.

A number of jobs will be offered, such as “bakers, shop managers and assistants”.

“This year, we expect to hire around 150 people and open between seven and 10 new bakeries,” said the company’s general director Nuno Carvalho.

The company is also expecting its revenue to reach €18 million this year – a 24% increase compared to 2014 (€14.5 million).

A Padaria Portuguesa was founded at the end of 2010 and currently operates 26 outlets in the Lisbon area, providing employment for more than 500 people.
