Algarve children’s charity ACCA is again holding its annual Angel Programme, which is a great opportunity for those who want to make a difference in the local community.
The charity, which focuses on the needs of underprivileged children across the Algarve, works closely with institutions, schools and community centres to ensure that the most needy get a special gift from Santa. And that is where you come in by being an “Angel”.
ACCA relies on individuals and sponsoring companies to take the name of a child, or a list of children, and to buy a present that will make their dreams come true.
ACCA has details of more than 2,000 children on its Christmas “wish list”. “Those wishes are not very large, but the children’s appreciation of your kindness is overwhelming,” says an ACCA spokesperson.
Gifts can be dropped off at Curiosa in Almancil on the E125, by end of November, to allow time for distribution.
