SL Benfica and Sporting CP, Portugal’s two representatives in this season’s UEFA Champions League, have qualified for the knockout phase playoff after a 0-2 away win against Juventus and a 1-1 home draw against Bologna, respectively, on Wednesday night.
In the knockout phase playoff, the teams that finished between ninth and 24th in the league phase will compete in two legs to secure their path to the last 16 of the competition.
Benfica will face Monaco or Brest, while Sporting will play Dortmund or Atalanta.
