Big electronic music acts to perform at Albufeira Sounds

‘Albufeira Sounds’ marks start of summer season in Albufeira

Albufeira will mark the start of the summer season with ‘Albufeira Sounds’, described as the “biggest electronic music festival in the region”.

Taking place between June 7 and 9 from 5pm to 1am at the town’s famous Praia dos Pescadores and its beachside square, the event will bring big names to the region such as Regard, known for his worldwide hits ‘Ride It’, ‘Hallucination’ and ‘Secrets’.

Other highlights include Mark Ursa, Yves Larock, Diego Miranda and Tom Enzy. The festival will also include local acts such as Henrique Pontes, Gonzalez and Alex Morais.

“This is already a key moment in the municipality’s annual event programme,” says Albufeira mayor José Carlos Rolo, adding that the festival is a “great way to boost tourism and local economic development, especially at the start of the summer season.

Deputy mayor Cristiano Cabrita expanded Rolo’s statement, stating that the aim is to “create a lively, young and dynamic moment” with the thousands of people who visit Albufeira during the long weekend of June 7-10 in mind.

He added that “this great party, with over 20 hours of music,” also helps position Albufeira as a leading tourism destination.

Mark Ursa will be the headliner of the festival’s opening day (Friday, June 7), with the remaining line-up featuring Yves Larock, Henrique Pontes, Gonzalez and Alex Morais. On Saturday, June 8, Charlie Spot, Massivedrum and Jean Maria will warm up the crowd for Silicone Soul, followed by headliner Diego Miranda. Finally on Sunday, June 9, the programme will include performances by Jay Martin, Zé Black and China, with Tom Enzy preceding the headlining act, Regard.

Admission is free. The event is organised by Albufeira municipal council with the support of W Algarve Hotel, Portuguese gin brand Blak Pig and the parish councils of Albufeira and Olhos de Água.
