Body believed to be missing Algarve woman found in Huelva, Spain

Carla Leal has been missing since September 30 

A body believed to be that of missing Algarve woman Carla Leal has been found in Hueva, Spain. 

Several local newspapers in Huelva have published the news, reporting that the body of a woman was found along the coast in Huelva this Tuesday (October 8).

Portuguese tabloid newspaper Correio da Manhã reports that Carla Leal’s family has already been notified that there is a strong chance that it is her body, although the tragic news has yet to be officially confirmed.

CM adds that the body found in Spain fits Carla Leal’s description. Furthermore, a sneaker identical to one found in the all-terrain vehicle that Carla had been driving when she went missing was found on the body.

Carla Leal went missing on Monday, September 30. She was last seen leaving the restaurant she worked at in Vila Real de Santo António at 11.30pm. Her vehicle was found in the Guadiana River after tire marks were discovered on a small curb by the road, indicating that the car may have veered off and plunged into the river.

Searches were carried out in the river throughout the following days, but no signs of the woman were found.
